Doug: Don't know if this will help or not, but in 1853 and again in 1857 the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee moved the county line in and near Kettle Mills. The Lovell's built and operated the mill there for several years. There are Lovell's in the area today and there are several Lovells buried in Delk Cemetery in Delk's Bend. I have photographed several stones there but I do not remember this name. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Wasson, Weems, Henderson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0hB.2ACI/343 Message Board Post: Specifically, I am searching for my Henderson Family that *may* have been in Maury Co., TN in the late 1800s. I'm trying to find out who the parents, siblings, great-grandparents (and further back) were to my great-great grandfather, Samuel Chapman "Chap" Henderson (a.k.a. C.S. Henderson). He was born on Oct. 2, 1870 - possibly in Mt. Hope, Lawrence Co., AL. He married Lula Caroline Weems. Her family was from Lawrence County, AL, and in Maury County, TN before that. Her mother was Mary Jane "Janie" Wasson (she married Andrew G. "Andy" Weems). Census records show that Chap Henderson's parents were from North Carolina. I'm wondering if they were in TN prior to or after Chap was born in 1870 (they were in AL in 1870). These three families seemed to have been in the same counties in the same time-frames, at least in Lawrence Co., AL and Navarro Co., TX. Perhaps they were in Maury Co., TN together, too? Any help is greatly appreciated!

There is a W. A. McKee, 4 May 1834 - 9 Apr 1912 buried in the Cave Spring Cemetery in Maury County. Wife is listed as a M. A. McKee. Also a William Polk McKee 16 Mar 1854 - 20 Jul 1938 in the Theta Baptist Church Cemetery. There are two William McKee's in the McKee-Rountree Cemetery but both have death dates before 1872.
