To all my wonderful genealogy friends thru TNMAURY-L: My computer crashed (dead mothboard) about 30 Sept and I cannot yet access any of my genealogy files, emails, or addresses on my new laptop. While I can't access my old List folders, at least I received all the current List mailings (since 1 Oct) and can always access previous posts to the Lists thru the Archives. Please contact me so I'll have your names and addresses. Also, as you find time, I'd appreciate it if you could send me copies of our email exchanges (some had so much information in them). At age 70, he fathered a son, John Wesley (Josh) Taylor in 1852. The John Taylor you mention was born in January 1857. As records go, this still may be your John Taylor. Josh Taylor's parents were John Wesley Taylor (b. 1818, d. 1890) and Letitia (Letty) Givens (b. 1824, d. 1864). They were married February 17, 1837 in Williamson County, Tennessee. Our John married three times. 1st wife-Letty Givens (10 children), 2nd wife- Martha Ann Orman Prichard (4 children), 3rd wife-Martha Hutcherson(Hutcheson/Hutchinson)- (6 children). A total of 20 children by 3 wives. Maybe this will be helpful although all the birthdate of your John does not match John (Josh) Taylor. Hope you can find this useful. Sincerely, Fay Johnson Joelton, Tennessee

Looking for verifications of marriage, death, burial locations for any members of the Claiborn Taylor family Maury Co. I believe that he and first wife, Elizabeth's son, William, may be my husband's GG-grandfather. If so, William Thomas Taylor left Maury Co. for MO. He married a granddaughter of the Reuben Owens family, also of Maury Co., in Washington Co. MO in 1865, before moving to Stone Co. MO. Any information on this family at all is appreciated. Wilma

Hello, all. I have recently discovered a message, posted in another system in 2000, by a lady named Paulette HAYNES. The subject of her message was John R. O'BARR, M. D., and she was seeking to know what happened to him and his wife, Rebecca HAYNES O'BARR, who were counted in the 1850 census in Arkansas. Now, Paulette, if you are 'out there' and see this, please let me know how to reach you. I have news to provide. I am interested in corresponding with anyone who might research these names or know of anyone who could help on these particular surnames. They were mostly in Giles Co., TN., but lived in the 14th and 15th Districts of Giles Co which borders Giles Co. However some did live in Maury Co. toward the late 1880's and into early 1900's and some descendants live there today. James Kidwell 1777/78-1861 settled in Giles Co., TN. married Elizabeth Angus and they had 5 children: Mary married William Scott. Sarah married Matthew Pate. William married Nancy ?Muncy/Mulkey/Mulky?? James F. married Mary Jane Castleberry. Alexander married Elizabeth Dickerson, 2nd Nancy Ann Glasscock Vaughn Bowers. 2 daughters of William and Nancy Kidwell migrated to Maury Co. 1890's or so. They were : Victoria Virginia Kidwell who married James Davis. They had 4 daughters: Mary Elizabeth, Ida Mai, Emma, and Myrtle. Mary Elizabeth married William Watson Dennis--had 3 children: Mahlon Dennis, Clarence Earl Dennis, and Archibald B. Dennis. Descendants of Victoria live in Maury Co. today. Mary Kidwell Tanner who married James T. Tanner. They had 2 children: Lucy Tanner who didn't marry and W.E. Tanner who married Viola Reed and had 1 child, Helen Flossie Tanner who married Harry Tidwell. Helen Flossie and Harry had 3 children: Doris Tidwell married Eugene Dixon, Frances Ruth Tidwell who married James Oscar Shires and R.T. (Bobby) Tidwell. Descendants of Mary Kidwell Tanner live in Maury Co. today. I have seen records that state that Mary Kidwell Tanner's maiden name was Rutledge. Trying to determine the source of this. I believe possibly Rutledge was Mary's middle name, since in census records she was listed as Mary R. Kidwell and Mary R. Tanner. Another possibility was that her father William Kidwell died and her mother remarried to a Rutledge. However I can find no marriage of a Nancy Kidwell to a Rutledge. Mary Kidwell Tanner's death certificate does say that her father was William Kidwell--informant was her son, William E. Tanner. If anyone has any knowledge of any of this, please let me hear from you. This family is so hard to find information on and any descendant I have talked to of James Kidwell of Giles Co. had not heard of the Kidwell name. Judy K. Sanders
