Dear Sandra, I am trying to research my Carlton(Calton) ancestors and noticed that you had asked for a lookup on Carltons. My gggrandfather was John F. Carlton/Calton who married Martha Long in Marshall Co. in 1858. I believe Martha was a granddaughter of Richard Long of Marshall Co. I have had no luck in proving John's father although I believe his father was Howard Carlton/Calton who resided in Marshall Co. in the 1840 census and deeded land to the Methodist Episcopal Church in Marshall Co. Are my Carltons in any way related to yours? Would love to share info.
