This information was posted on the Maury County mailing list by me. I'm looking for conformation on the children of William Wyles (Wiles) and Nancy McKee. They were married in Sumner County, 18 Apr 1805. I believe that their children were John Wiles (28 Dec 1805), William Wiles (Oct 1807), Alexander Wiles (1809), Elizabeth (1813), and Martha (1815). I have one source linking the two females to this family, but nothing on the three males. Nancy was the daughter of Alexander McKee (b. 1750, Ireland) and Mary Bean (b.11 Jun 1756, Germany). They were married1770 in Orange County, NC.and both died in Maury County, TN. I'm hoping that someone has a family bible with this information in it, some other source. Marshall County Historical Society, Vol 3 The McKee's of Orange County, NC and Maury County, TN A thorough search of Orange County, NC records has not been made by this writer. However records in my possession have been checked, as well as marriage records and census records on microfilm at Tennessee State Library. A brief search of the military and colonial records was made by Mrs. W.A. Berryman of Mt. Pleasant, who checked on Revolutionary services of William McKee. She found a William McKee receiving a land grant in NC in 1857. 1. William McKee was born before 1755 and is found in the 1790 and 1800 census records of Hilsboro District, Orange County, NC. He executed his will 5 Oct 1822, proved February term of court, 1823. The will is found in the Will Book E, page 32. His wife was probably names Mary, as she is referred to as "Polly" or "Molly" in his will. She was also born prior to 1755. A William McKee served as a private in Coleman's Company, 10th Regiment, Continental Line in 1781. A check is being made to see if this record is for this William. It is felt that it is his record. The children of William McKee and "Polly" of Orange County, NC. Mary (Polly or Dolly) Ann married __________ Wood Rankin married, 7 March 1807, Lydia Ray Victory married __________ Boring James William, born 15 March 1777 in Orange County, NC married there 8 Mar 1810, Jane Jameson Betsy (Elizabeth) married _________ Hargis David married 3 April 1817, Jinney Allison 2. William McKee and his wife Jane Jameson came to Maury County about 1815. She was the daughter of William and Jean (Jane) Jameson of Orange County. William Jameson's estate was settled in 1795; administrator was John Ray. Jane, his wife, was guardian of Margaret, John, Jean (Jane), William and Robert. Margaret (born 1778), John (born 1782), Jane (born 1788) are all buried in the McKee-Roundtree Cemetery off the Carter's Creek Pike in Maury County, TN. Jane Jameson was born in Orange County, NC, 29 Mar 1788 and died in Maury County 22 Oct 1825. William McKee married in Maury County in 23 November 1826, Mrs. Jane Ray, a widow (probably of Matthew Ray). According to William's petition for divorce dated 21 April 1831, her children thought they should share in his property. She had returned in 1829 to NC. William owned considerable property in the Carter's Creek vicinity of Maury County. At his death on 29 April 1853, his estate was valued at approximately $30,000. The children of William (II) and Jane Jameson (see settlement of estate, Maury County, TN., Minute Book Vol 2, No 6, page 347) Victory married David Roundtree, 15 Feb 1827. He is not listed in the 1850 census of Maury County, nor are several of his sisters and their husbands. They may have been living in Williamson County, since the part of Maury where they had lived is very near the Maury - Williamson line; or they may have migrated to some other state and then returned to this vicinity. The 1860 census would give a more definite birth date for G.W. McKee. His names is given variously as George W. G.W., Wash, and Washington. The record of his marriage top Sarah Roundtree has not been found, although it must have been about 1833. Sarah was living at the time her father made his will (23 Jun 1841). She was the daughter of Andrew Roundtree and his wife Mary Roberson (Robinson ?) who married in Person Co., NC, 5 March 1799. Andrew was the son of Thomas and Evy Sturgess Roundtree. Thomas died in 1790 in Orange Co., NC., and his will is recorded there. Andrew was born 25 April 1792, and died 11 Jul 1841. Mary was born 12 April 1782 and died 31 Jul 1864. The children of G.W.
