Looking for any information relating to the following: John McClure (died Feb 8, 1808 Hawke Co, Tn) married Rebecca Ewing in Ireland. We know that John and Rebecca had a son named William. William was born in 1785 in Ballymena, County Antrim, Ireland. This is when the family immigrated to America. William was a very young child, so young that once when questioned he said he thought he was 'from' Baltimore, Maryland, which is where he was raised. We have information that Rebecca Ewing McClure, and presumably John, died in Greenville, TN. William McClure (1785-1854), who was born in Ireland, married Eleanor Ewing Purdom - called Nellie (1793-1872) on November 11, 1813, in Greene County, TN. William, and presumably Eleanor, died in Marshall County. One of first justices of the peace. AM TRYING TO FIND IF THEY HAD ANY MORE CHILDREN OTHER THAN....William D. McClure? William D. McClure. (Sep 20, 1830- Nov 29, 1893). merchant; William D. McClure married Mary Orlena Pillow (1836-1905). William D. McClure and Mary Orlena Pillow McClure had seven children. Robert (1853-1866) who died young; Walter Flavis (1856-1915); Thomas Hall (1858-1921); Anna Ewing (1961-1946); William Pillow; John Bell (1869-1921) and Mary Lois (1876-1961).
