I'm going to have to disagree on this observation. The main reason is that Jeremiah and Tabitha's eldest son was named Edmond R. There is no telling what the "R" stood for, but it could have possibly have been Randle; Randolph; Richard; Robert, etc... of which, there were several Cheek men with these Christian names. I need to add here that Jeremiah was living in close proximity between 1790 - 1810 to other Cheek men with these names. And, yes, there were also Elisha's. The main thing is is that the first born son was generally named for the father's father. I hope to uncover this truth very soon. You do have the right idea. So keep on searching because that is how treasure is found!
