C. to the Liberty Valley section of Bedford Co TN in the winter of 1816/1817. This section became a part of Marshall County after it was established in 1836. The first known deed recorded in TN by John Endsley is a 2 Jan 1817 purchase of 125 acres, 30 poles from Josiah Blackwell. [Bedford Co. TN Deed Book H, page 402]. MARSHALL COUNTY TENNESSEE BIBLE RECORDS by Carolyn McAdams, 1981 was edited by Helen Crawford Marsh and published by the Marshall County Historical Society, Lewisburg, Tennessee. The Family Record of John Endsley is on pages 1 & 2. The Bible was in the possession of James W. Endsley, 215 5th Avenue, North, Lewisburg, Tennessee. That James W. Endsley was a direct descendant of John Endsley thru John's son, Bedford Endsley, his son, John Francis Endsley, his son, B. Endsley. His obituary is in the Columbia Tenn. Daily Herald 10 May 1985. He died 9 May 1985 in Lewisburg. Member of First Presbyterian Church, Shriners, Masons, city councilman for 14 years and a retired CPA. Wife, Willie Mae Cheek Endsley was the only survivor named in the obituary. Willie Mae Cheek Endsley's obituary appears in the 8 Sep 1994 Columbia Tennessee Daily Herald. She died 6 Sep 1994 at Merihil Health Care Facility in Lewisburg. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. The only survivors mentioned in her obituary were two cousins, Cliff Whitesell and George Ollie Whitesell. Some of us descendants would love to locate the Bible and obtain permission to photograph the publisher's information and the Family Record. Your help will be most appreciated.
