I have been trying to determine the Bagleys since Bobby Prosser ask about them the other day and this is some of what I have found--- Joab Bagley and Elisha Bagley seem to have been in the Mt. Zion area of Marshall Co. which is near Talley Station ---in the early 1800's--- listed in the 1840 census of Marshall Co. ---John R. Bagley -- 30-40- years old -- Joab Bagley -- 60-70 years old -----Henry Bagley -- 70-80--I can not find any of these people listed in the 1850 census of Marshall Co. only Bagley listed is --Nancy Bagley who is 75 years old and had living with her Elizabeth Luna 15--and Madison R. Luna 13-- Although land records seem to indicate he owned land in the area Elisha is not in the Census of Marshall Co. Tn. --but he is buried in the Old City Cemt at Fayetteville Tn. Elisha Bagley 2-10-1776--5-28-1851--wife Sara Frances Wilkins 5-23-1780-1-2-1830-- I have found 2 children for Elisha --#1 Elizabeth C. Bagley born 5-18-1802--she married Robert W. Hill born 4-13-1798--- #2 John R. Bagley he seems to have married Mary Driver daughter of Moses Driver and they are from around the Catalpa area as best I can determine.--- Emily J. Bagley wife of Col John Orr Jr. 12-24-1813--1-22-1886--is the daughter of Joab Bagley and Col Orr is of the Orr family of Belfast. Tn.-they are buried in the Mt. Zion Cemt. Bethaney Petty 11-10-1803--8-27-1829--is the daughter of Joab Bagley so the Cemt listing says.--Not sure which Petty she is the wife of. In the Mr. Zion Cemt the listings are --Nathan G. Bagley 5-23-1800--9-12-1833--- it says he is the son of J. B. Bagley Robert W. Bagley 11-15-1825--6-5-1842--son of N. and A. G. Bagley Isaiah F. Bagley 8-17-1819--5-7-1833--does not say whose child he is - Uriah Bagley born July 1805--died 9-10-1829-- 7-26-1837--Elsiha Bagley sold property and it says for in the natural love and affection he has for his son --John R. Bagley this is how I determined he was a child of Elisha -- court of June 1837---Joab Bagley made bond to be the Guardian of William H. and Patrick H. Talley and the relationship was not told -----minor orphans of Patrick H. Talley-- ( Patrick H. Talley born 1-22-1810--5-24-1831-- he is the child of Henry Talley I would think he might have been married to Joab Bagley daughter but is just a guess at this time) by the Sept term of 1845--Joab Bagley was dec'd Joab Bagley gave property to Anna G. Bagley for love and affection he has for his daughter --- It seems Anna was married to Sherwood W, Graves and she is listed in the 1850 census as Anna G, Graves 25--and 2 sons John Graves 6--and James K.Graves 4----she later married Jackson C. Killingsworth and she died in TX--1906-- Joab gave to Nathan and Uriah Bagley land because they were his sons --and he gave land to his daughter Mary McAdams wife of Hugh McAdams --- So we have daughters Mary McAdams ---Emily J. Orr --Bethany Petty as daughters and Nathan and Uriah as sons--possible a daughter married to Patrick Talley and dec'd I have not found a clue as to the wife of Joab Bagley -- I hope some one can fill in the blanks for this. I am looking for the parents of W. J. Bagley killed in the civil War that married Mary Ann McAdams 4-11-1858 and is the father of Ophelia Bagley born 1860 and married Henry Waters/Watters both buried at Head Springs. Ophelia Bagley had a brother Robert Bagley---we have no information on Robert Bagley Ophelia and Henry Waters had Ora born 1885--1969---she married Alan Marsh and when he died she married Ollie Short --no children from either marriage -- Infant Waters that B/D-- Mary Waters died young -- Bonnie E. Waters born 1892 -1918---married Other Sowell -- Emmer Waters 1895 -1947--married Wm. R. Ervin J. Robert Waters 1897-1966--married Fannie Fullerton Mattie Sue Waters 1902-1994--married Joe Cowden Bills (Tuck) --and Cecil West --- -------------------------------- End of TNMARSHA-D Digest V00 Issue #109 *************************************** From [email protected] Tue Aug 1 19:00:40 2000 Return-Path: <[email protected]> Received: from lists6.rootsweb.com (lists6.rootsweb.com [63.92.80.125]) by listsearches.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) with ESMTP id e7220ew15632 for <[email protected]>; Tue, 1 Aug 2000 19:00:40 -0700 Received: (from [email protected]) by lists6.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) id e7220fA31637 for [email protected]; Tue, 1 Aug 2000 19:00:41 -0700 Date: Tue, 1 Aug 2000 19:00:41 -0700 Message-Id: <[email protected]> From: [email protected] Subject: TNMARSHA-D Digest V00 #109 X-Loop: [email protected] X-Mailing-List: <[email protected]> archive/volume00/109 Precedence: list MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/digest; boundary="----------------------------" To: [email protected] Reply-To: [email protected] ------------------------------ Content-Type: text/plain TNMARSHA-D Digest Volume 00 : Issue 109 Today's Topics: #1 [TNMARSHA] Massey, Patton, Marsh, [[email protected]] #2 [TNMARSHA] Bagley [[email protected]] Administrivia: To unsubscribe from TNMARSHA-D, send a message to [email protected] that contains in the body of the message the command unsubscribe and no other text.
