I'm reasonably certain that this one was born in King William Co not York Co. I'm also quite confident that this John's father is Gideon. Gideon lived in KWC from the very least 1782 to his death abt 1820. I know since I traced him year by year in KWC tax lists. That would seem to preclude him from being your ancestor. Oh well....
