    1. [TNMARSHA] Marshall Co. Historical Society & Quarterly
    2. Christopher Taylor
    3. YES, the Quarterly is still published! Individual copies are $3.00, but a $10.00 membership to the Society includes mailings of the quarterly for a year. Of course, your next question is "How do I become a member?" I left the address at the office tonight, but anyone interested can e-mail me privately and I will forward the address. Sorry for my forgetfulness! Happy hunting. PS: I saw a "signature" on another rootsweb list that read as follows: "Shake your family tree and watch the nuts fall out!" How appropriate!!! Notes for Samuel Beatty: Samuel served as a private under his brother, Thomas, in the 19th TN Cav. and had some fingers shot off during the War, according to Mary Williams. I then had to highlight all the text, copy it again and then paste it into my Eudora e-mail message. Maybe it's just a fluke of Eudora that I can't paste directly to it from FTM. He was at Talley, Tennessee in 1888. The soldier's discharge of Alphus says he was 5 foot, 8 inches, fair complection, gray eyes, and auburn hair. Jeanne has Alphus birth date as Feb. 20, 1826. iv. 3. Cary, thanks again for the Wakefield/Enloe lookups. I have one more favor to ask. >First of all, in the Lone Oak Cemetery there are: >Robert C. Enloe 1873-1931 >Lena B. Enloe 1878-1974 In the Lone Oak Cemetery, do you find a family of Buchanans? Robert Chester Enloe was married to a "former Lewisburg girl..Lena Buchanan" and I am wondering if the burial was planned to be near her relatives. RC Enloe died in Port Arthur, TX, and I could not figure why he was brought back to Lewisburg...but a Buchanan family would explain that. Funny, I do not recall having ever heard of an "Aunt Lena" who would have been my grandmother's sister in law, yet she was buried there in Lewisburg in 1974. Surely my father must have known about it...... All of this is very interesting to me since Buchanans from Lincoln/Bedford County are relatives also. Thanks in advance. Dorothy

    1. [TNMARSHA] Plea for assistance...
    2. Karen in Ky
    3. Hi all, I am making a plea for assistance here. I am also involved in 3 other county sites, and I am one of the area coordinators for Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness. We are also a homeschool family, raise a big garden, have alot of pets, are building a new house, etc., etc.... Anyway, I could really use some help with the regular maintenance of the pages and I'm looking for an interested volunteer. Some knowledge of HTML would be wonderful, I cheat with Netscape Composer for big things, and use Note Tab or just a text editor for updates and correcting my spelling errors <grin> and use WS_FT LE as my ftp client. Everything I just listed is a free download. There is no pay, all the County pages and mailing lists are maintained by volunteers, but the rewards are really great and your mailbox will never be empty! There are several new additions that I'd really like to make to the Marshall Webpages, including an area with more focus on surnames (pj in Weakley County said I could steal some of her ideas!) so I have lots I'd like to get done. And I have got to get caught up on my lookups! If anyone is interested, email me privately. [email protected] Thanks, Karen

    3. Paul, I don't see why the Genealogy reports wouldn't work. I could easily make a page out of each generation and link them, or just put the entire report as a single page. They are as easy to read as a group sheet, and give the same info. Works for me! Incidentally, if you use Netscape, you can't paste directly from FTM to an email. For some reason you have to paste to Word, then copy and paste to an email. Don't know about IE. Karen Paul Beatty wrote: > Lavonne, > > Thank you very much! 3. Thank you very much for the look up. For sure, the Beechwood Wakefields are my family. The other Wakefields are not a part of my current collection. Do you have any notion how to locate the graves in that cemetery? I have driven through several times and looked for the oldest section, but have not located the graves. The Enloes in Lone Oak are mine as well. I read in another post that Lone Oak is just south of the square in Lewisburg. I am not familiar with that one but now will try to take a look next time I get through there. Again, thanks. 2. Unfortunately I know nothing more than what I typed. You might try tracking down the funeral home that is connected with the cemetery. I remember when I was last down in Nashville I managed to get plot records and a schematic drawing of the cemetery and the plot locations from the funeral director at Mt. Olivet. Good hunting! Cary

    2. Terry McLean
    3. Paf 2.31 and Paf 4.0 both have 'print to file' options. They work differently. I never used Paf 3 so don't know about it, but I would assume it also has one. At 03:37 PM 09/02/1999 EDT, you wrote: >Does the PAF program allow you to copy and paste? Carolyn in TX > > >

    1. Re: [TNMARSHA] 1880 Marshall County Census Lookup
    2. Linda: I find your James F. and Marsena Cunningham in Section J of the Lone Oak Cemetery -- also Mary Ann Nash Hopwood (her dob is listed as 1824 btw). There is also a W. M. Hopwood (Feb 1, 1813-Oct 24, 1893) and a Julia w/o W. M. Mar 23, 1821-Apr 8, 1894. Also a Will A. Hopwood Apr 24, 1888-Jan 17, 1974 & Nettie E. Hopwood Sep 2, 1889-Apr 7, 1968. My book gives the location of Lone Oak as: "one half mile south of the Lewisburg Public Square." I could not find your Charlotte. I also noticed that there is a small cemetery named "Hopwood Cemetery" located four miles south of Lewisburg between the Yell and Spring Place Roads, on the farm of Charlie Lasater. Found none of your names listed there though. Regards, Cary
