Marshall County List: Is there any type historical or genealogical organization in Marshall County at the present time? Most of the other counties in the surrounding area are presently publishing family history books. Bobby Prosser prossergenealogy@comcast.net
Dear Listers, I've been searching in vain for several years for my ggggrandmother, Nancy Bullock. She married James M. V. Luna around 1827 or 1828. She may have been from Sumner County, TN because her husband was from there and he was born in 1806. They then moved to Marshall County, TN. Any scrap of information would be appreciated. Sincerely, William R. (Bill) Massey of Franklin, TN

Margaret Alice Wilson Fa(u)lkenberry was his first child. She married John Presley Falkenberry and they had at least 6 children. My grandfather, Frank Harris Falkenberry was born 23 Apr 1895. I cannot add anything to Thomas Wilson, but if you'd like what I have on the descendents of Margaret Alice Wilson, I'd be happy to send it to you. I appreciate what you have put on-line, because I've been unable to find anything on Thomas. It is quite surprising that he was with the Union Army. Thank you so much, Elizabeth Clemmons.

Alexander Barron Sr.,Alexander Barron Jr.,William Barron Sr.,William Barron,Jr.,Dorcas Stephenson Barron, and Samuel Barron appear on the 1820 census of Giles. Alexander Barron Sr. died in Giles about 1816. His son Alexander Barron Jr moved on to Lauderdale County,AL. John Barrow ,the son of Catherine Barron, is mentioned in the Marshall County,TN. biographies. I have cemetery records for the Barrons in Marshall and would appreciate any help with census records. I've posted the Report of sale of his estate in Surry Co NC on the Endsley surname board at Ancestry.com. page 60: John Endsley, son of James Endsley & Jane, his wife, was born the 13th of August 1769. John Endsley died 21 Sep 1828 in Bedford Co TN ( in a part included in Marshall County after its establishment in 1836) and is buried at Round Hill Cemetery, Belfast, Marshall County TN. Note: Practically all the researchers I have seen say John Endsley was b. Guilford Co NC. Guilford County was not established until 1771. Would be more accurate to say he was born in Rowan County. Furthermore, the tract of land James and Jane Endsley lived on was just over the Guilford County line in Surry (Stokes after 1789) after Rowan was divided into Surry and Guilford in 1771.

Marshall County Researchers: Is anyone familiar with George Dillard PETTY b. ca. 1797, Chatham County NC? He probably had three wives in his lifetime. There is a Sophia HOGAN that is buried in the Peter Luna Cemetery. Sophia's mother was a daughter of Peter Luna. Sophia was married to a G. D. Petty and it is my guess that this was probably George Dillard Petty. If anyone has any information that they would be willing to share on George Dillard Petty, I would appreciate it? I don't know what marriage records are available for Marshall County, but if anyone has access to marriage records BEFORE 1840, would you mind looking up a possible marriage for Joseph H. Emerson in the mid-to-late 1830's? We know he married Mary Dearen in 1841 and then Jane Rodgers in 1849, but we have a suspicion he may have been married before then as well. Thank you!
