Pittsburg Landing is near the Shiloh battlefield in Hardin county, Tennessee. There were some Rhodes living there in the late 1800's but your Absalom was living in Marion County in 1870 in the Sweedens/Sweetens Cove area. In 1880, he and his family were living in South Pittsburg. By 1900 he and his family were in Garfield Co, OK. In that 20 year gap between 1880 and 1900 I guess it's possible that they also lived in Hardin Co since it's on the way to Oklahoma.
