I am still trying to get up off the floor from laughing,Tony LOL Bill is right though -- but to be fair, not all are like that. While we are on the subject -- the information contained on them should only be taken as generalized and not the gospel-- Every one I have seen does contain some clues that do help though.-- I know even my Mother-in-laws is wrong -- the emotions that are ragging at the shock of death , no matter how prepared you are for it , can make you just plain not think straight. A cousin was put down as a brother and my Husbands name was put down wrong by his older sister as well. That is just one example of many. Some times they just guessed at the answer or just plain don't know and must put down something. ----- Original Message ----- From: wmcconne@bellsouth.net To: tnmarion@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, April 03, 2008 11:30 AM Subject: Re: [TNMARION] Death Cert in Marion Co Tn I seem to be back to only getting about 10% of the messages posted so it's hard to keep up with the conversation. I just wanted to mention that the dept of vital statistics doesn't have that death certificate anyway. They only keep the last 50 yrs. After that they go to the Tennessee Library & Archives and are put on microfilm. Sounds like you've been dealing with a typical state employee. "You can't have it unless you jump through some hoops for me after which I will tell you that we don't have it anyway".
