There was a Kilgore man who John Ferrell shot either in the late 50s or early 60s. He was a real nice guy, and John was somewhat unbalanced. A case of just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I stopped at the Jasper drive in after a date one night, and John tried to pick a fight, I just laughed at him and kept walking. He did the same thing with someone else (now I am going to not rest until I remember who) who took exception, and John hit him in the face with brass nucks.
