Have been researching Duncans, they first appear in Marion County about 1845. My great grand parents, James and Barbara's farm was bounded on the north by the Tennessee river and on the south by the Georgia and Alabama borders. They both passed on in May of 1887, either on the same day or with in ten days of each other. Would any one know if there was an epidemic of some kind at that time? Also found a barely legible document which lists their religion, but I can't make it out. It has two words. The first starts with a " C ", the second with a " P ". There is at least seven letters in each word and the last letter in each word extends below the line. A bit of a puzzle, any one with any ideas please e-mail me.
