    1. [TNMARION] Marion TN roll call O'NEAL
    2. I am looking for any birth, marriage, or death information about my ggg James O'Neal. He was born somewhere in GA abt. 1834, and lived in Marion Co., TN from sometime in the 1840's. The last record of him that I have found is the 1880 Marion Co. census. I have not been able to locate any Civil War service records for him. The 1850 Marion Co. census shows the O'Neal household as: Caroline b. 1820 SC James b. 1834 GA July A. b. 1841 GA (female) Mary Henson b. 1798 Charles Henson b. 1831 I am speculating that Caroline was James' mother or stepmother, and that Mary Henson may have been her mother and Charles her brother. She also appears in the county court records of 1844 as the recipient of funds for the upkeep of Andrew O'Neal, "a pauper". James' household appears on the 1860 Marion Co. census as: James b. 1834 GA Sarah E. b. 1839 TN Mary Ann b. 1856 TN Charles b. 1858 TN and again on the 1870 Marion Co. census as: James b. 1834 GA Martha b. 1843 TN Mary A. b. 1856 TN Charles O. b. 1858 TN Margaret b. 1860 TN John W. b. 1862 TN (my gg) Sarah b. 1867 TN Sigle b. 1869 TN (male) Here I am speculating that Sarah E. was his first wife - the marriage taking place sometime in 1853-1855, and because of the the 5 -year age spread between my gg and his sister Sarah, that her maiden name was Mitchell (the maiden name gg's mother). Martha would then have been his second wife - the marriage taking place sometime in 1862-1866. I have searched all the records and indexes that I have available here in Texas, and have come to the "brick wall". Any lookups or leads would be deeply appreciated.
