Dear Arleta, I think we have corresponded once before, but I thought I would re-visit my issues with my Ragsdale family! I've found out a little bit from a distant cousin that's quite intriguing. My gg grandfather, Darris Ragsdale was born 1856 in either GA or TN (depending on which record your referring to.) Darris' mother's name was Mary. According to his death certif., his father's name was George. But by the time Darris was 5, he was being raised by his mother Mary and her husband Thomas Pennington in Hamilton Co, TN. Well, Thomas Pennington died during the Civil war in 1862 in VA (he was from Dade, Co, GA) and then Mary disappears and Darris and his half-sister Tennessee Pennington are raised by Jesse Walden and his wife Nancy. This family ends up in Marion Co, TN. By looking over your web pages (and other sites and information I've seen) I see that you have a Darius Ragsdale, who has a brother named George (son's of Berryman). Could this just be a coincidence?
