Any help would be appreciated. In the 1850 census, there's Daniel Durham (27) & wife Lucretia (20)(d/o Elijah Scott). Living with them is Andrew Kersey (24) & wife Liza (24)-(was she a Durham?) Also in the house is a Mary Durham (54) who may be Daniel's mother. Next door is Ennis Durham (53) (Daniel's brother? or Uncle ?) Wife- Parmly (31)? Then, there's a James Durham (31) living with a family named "Startin". I believe he could be Daniel's brother. The only other information I have is that Ennis had a son, Ennis W., b. 1860 in Marion Co. He marr. Amanda Railey & they had a son, Robert Vinson who married Sarah Ellen "Beene". Sarah is supposed to be the d/o Sam M. Beene & Millie "Raulston". Anything on any of these families would be wonderful. I am 95 born in Jasper. I have a list of his children but no info on the dates of marriage childre and deaths. Now I am trying to clarify a story I heard as a child. He was a strong Rebel and was imprisoned in Nashville but escaped and took family to Florida. I hope someone will know when the Union troops came through the Sequatchie Valley. They burned his home,stole his cattle and horses etc. I asked Euline Harris about this but it seems she has not found the answer. I left Jasper in 1919 but visited several times. I knew a lot of Turner relatives but I doubt any I knew are alive. My father was Richard (Dick) T. Simpson.
