    2. I would like to have any info on the Shelton Family. I have heard my father-in law tallk about Gilliam Shelton alot. i haven't had the time to research my husbands family( too busy with my own at the moment) but if you could sent it I would give it to him I'm sure he would have some interesting history to add the stories he tells about them are great, he is currently writing a book of family history (stories) for my daughter, I think he is on the 2nd notebook now. He told me one story about one of the shelton men who married an Indian lady whom he got by trading a mule for her hand who used to run back to her family when he went hunting. had to tie her up when he went hunting until he tied her down with kids. and when he died a neighbor turn her and the kids in for the money the goverment gave to those who would do such a thing and she and the kids where sent west, Sandra ( ross ) Shelton

    3. I love your story. That is such a great idea, about your Dad writing a book for the coming generations. I sure wish I had thought of that about 30 years ago or more. What a wonderful treasure that would be to hand down to the next generation. My cousin and I are comparing stories about her Dad and my Dad. Boy are we having a wonderful time laughing our fool heads off at some of their foolishness, they used to pull!! In the process I am also learning quite a bit of history about that generation that I had no idea about. It even has lead me on some new leads to possibly breaking down some brick walls. Your Father-in-law has given all of something to think about doing as well. I know my children would sure have treasured something like that from their Grandparents. betty
