My grandmother was a school teacher at about 1900 and her name was Sallie Smith. She married in 1902. Supposedly she went to a school, and I am sure it had to be fairly nearby to Whitwell where they lived. Would this have been what they might have called a "normal" school? With these books and records being reported recently on this list, does anybody show her as a teacher in Whitwell? Or might someone have an idea where she could have been trained and would there be any records? Any insights appreciated. Thanks. wanda casker
