Sarah Varner married there in 1864 and her husband William A. Emmerling (Emmarling, Emberling etc) died there from a gun shot wound in 1872. The lived in Hamilton County TN and also in Walnut Valley, Sequatchie, TN. in 1870. Did the google search but can't find a Union Institute i- rather odd name for a town.. Would like to know about his death on April 21, 1872 at Union Institute - died from a gun wound - by another man.
