Though a small bottle of water with no additives to it would prob be used to wet the engraved letters I wouldn't put more than a spritz or two of it. Probably would be better just to take pics a little after a rain if that's an option. Anything like chalk, flour etc contains things that could break down the stone or cause stuff to grow on it. --Marie B
