Euline, I greatly appreciate your help. I called the Layne Funeral Home that is located at Palmer and they were not able to help me. He was very nice to talk with and was so surprised by the name of the undertaker listed on the death certificate. He gave me the phone #'s of the Cagle's listed and I have called them but have not been able to learn anything. Apparently they are a different branch of Cagle's than mine. I also called the Hooper Funeral Home and they are going to see if they can locate where any of the old records might be. The funeral home has changed owners and the old records may not even exist any longer. I don't know if there ever was a stone for Benjamin Alexander Cagle or not. Benjamin's son Albert was a miner. Mr. Layne from the Layne Funeral Home as pictures of the 1st & 2nd shifts of the miners and every person is named but he found no "Cagle" listed on those. These photos were taken in 1939. Albert possibly was dead by that time? The newspaper might be our last resort. What is the name of the newspaper? I don't know if he would have had a probate record or not. I don't know if either of them were listed on the tax records. Any help is greatly appreciated in locating him. I can't even find out what happened to the records if they even kept any. I will check with some of his relatives and see if they know anything. It is possible that the marker has sunk into the ground and we missed it when we did our cemetery book or possibly just missed it period. I will look in some of these old newspapers and see if they can tell me anything. Euline
