HI LIST, I found this in so old paper work of my departed sister-in-law EDWINA DOYLE GROSS.... George Washington Clouse, wa born May the 20th,1808 in WASHINGTON CO TN. And departed from this life June 5th 1893. Age 85 years and 16 days.... His father, Aaron Clouse,returned from the CREEK WAR in the year of 1812. and died in a few days after reaching his home. Mary Clouse, his widow and motherr of a deeased,then moved from Washington County, to Sweetens Cove,Marion Co, Tn, and lived there untill the year of 1836. He then moved to Shellmount,Tenn where he spent the remainder of his life. August 24th 1837 he was married to Lydia Watson who still lingers on the shore of time. A few years later the deceased attached himself to the FREEWELL BAPTIST CHURCH. In 1867 the Missionary Baptist Church organized at Masedonia, near Shellmound,Tenn. He then joined that branch of the Christian Church,and lived a consistent member of the same untill death.. Brother Clouse was a very positive an: he was strictly honest and truthful. He spoke Heaven as his future home. He bore his affication with fortitude and submission. He leaves a widow, Five children, and a large circle of friends to mourn their loss, may they imitate his virtues and avoid his mistakes. May they all meet again in the 'Home" in Heaven... I. N.
