I think you're onto something there about the employment Betty. I was looking at this draft reg. card and I know that in 1910 and 1920 they were living in Battle Creek, Marion Co. However, it says Grandpa Thompson was employed by J. W. Jones Sawmill in Bridgeport, Ala. He lists his home address and place of birth as Dove, TN. Donna Do you know any thing about this Thompson listed below in this deed Iley D428 ( in ink) I, ANN THOMPSON, have this day bargained and sold & do hereby convey to CHARLES HALEY for the sum of five dollars to me paid and the other considerations hereinafter mentioned, a tract or parcel of land in the State of Tennessee, Marion County, district the North east corner of Section 23 Fractional Township Ranges 7 East Quarter in the Ocae (sic) District adjoining Goodson McDaniel on the s.w. by a greater part entered and on the s.e. by RICHMOND HILL, and on the North by Tn river, I.
