Hi, Yvonne. That is the kind of story one hopes to be able to include in a family history. What years was your grandfather ages 12-14, to pinpoint a timeframe for the riot. One that was a "blood bath" surely made the newspapers, and the court records. Another idea is that many small town newspapers even today carry a 'back-then' column on the history of major and minor happenings in the area, 5 years back, 10 years, etc, usually up to 100 years ago. Our small farming community paper in Oregon has done so for many years and we subscribe to it mostly for that column. Perhaps local people might know if a newpaper near Hale Bar Dam area exists? Or the closest town? Thanks for the look back. Aileen in WA
