    3. My name is Yvonne Mason - My grandfather Clinton Leonard Robinson worked on the Hales Bar Dam when he was about 13 years old as a water boy. He was there the day of the riot that left a lot of men dead. I have been trying to find out about this riot for years. Any help with any articles would be very appreciated. When the riot started he and another water boy jumped in the river and stayed by the bank until it was safe to leave. He said it was a blood bath. He was from Coffee County Tenn and had gone to Hales Bar to work. I still have relatives in Alabama and Tenn. There is family buried in Sequatiche someplace but I have yet to find them. macbetty <[email protected]> wrote: Vina Rose Geer has been nice enough to share some very old postcard pictures of Hales Bar dam, that belong to her Father-in-law, if I remember correctly. 3. Yvonne, Sorry I have no info about Hales Bar Dam. Are any of your Robinsons from DeKalb Co., TN ? I have William Martin Summers (1846-1906) mar... (1878) to Dorinda Ann Robinson (1851-1908). Her parents were Wm & Lucy. 3. Yvonne, try writing to the nearest large newspaper: Chattanooga Times Free Press, P.O. Box 1447, Chattanooga, Tn 37401 or phone: 1-423-756-6900, or the web site: www.tfponline.com The library where one is most likely to find pictures is: Chattanooga Bicentennial Library, 1001 Broad St., Chattanooga, Tn 37402. Since Guild isn't but approx 20 (maybe 30 mi.) miles from the Chattanooga city limits the riot was probably covered by "The Chattanooga Times" back then...
