David, This may be of interest to you. Listed in this cemetery are Nancy White, husband Robert N. White & Granny Cunningham (her mother). Nancys` 1831 birthdate would put her age at 76 in 1907. Sequatchie Valley News dated 1907 "Nancy White aged 76 years, widow of the late Robert N. White, was partially stricken with paralysis in her right side this week, but at this date is some better. Her mother settled in this country when the Indians occuoied it in 1810 and she lived to be 104 years old, and the last 20 years of her life was totally blind, and had to be led wherever she went and as she was dying her second eyesight came to her and she could tell the color of dresses the women had on in the room. She had never taken a dozen doses of medicine in her life. All the old citizens remember Grandma Cunningham, the motherof Nancy White, who is widely known far and near throughout this country and hndreds of old soldiers that are yet living haven`t forgotten her daring and brave feats during the late Civil War, and how she succeeded in carring dispatches through to the Yankee headquarters in her mouth, and she eluded the Rebel officers, and rode through the lines and delivered the the dispatches that defeated the enemy. She delivere them for her husband, Robert N. White, who was a Yankee spy, that very old soldier throughout this country will to this day remember. Esq. Teague has a book printed on the life of Nancy White with a photograph that was taken during the war of her on horseback with her long hair hanging down riding through rebel camps, with the war dispatches. The little sketch I know will be interesting to many old soldiers that are still living and know these facts, and will be sorry to hear of her sickness, and I know we will get a good piece from some old soldier through the News along this line."
