the Message Board is just another place to post queries. The queries will remain there for all to see, and can be searched for key words, and will reach a different audience than the Mailing List. Individuals may want to use both the Mailing List and the Message Board for their postings. There would be more coverage, more chances of making contact that way. Please remember this Mailing List can still be used for posting queries also. That is one of the primary purposes of it. I really like how ever one is using it to post their ancestors to it. :-) This list is archived of course , as all rootsweb lists are but some do not know how to search the archives, so that is why we suggest using the message board as well as this list.
