Nelda, I did a little searching during my lunch hour and found an interesting possibility. I saw on some Ancestery records that it was believed that Ann Cupp moved to Chariton Mo., so I started looking there. I got interested when a William Maupin was listed in the records as a slave owner in Chariton Co.,in 1850, but I could not find him on the census. There was a Mitchell Maupin and a Cornelius Maupin listed in 1850 census, but it did not tie into your Ann. I called up a search for Ann, born ca 1828 in Tn. I got back an Anna Maupin b. 1828 in Tn, living in Lafayette Co. Mo (a couple co's over from Chariton Co), with husband James C. Maupin b. 1813 KY age 37 and son William age 1.
