My sons' Scout Troop here in San Antonio cleaned up the Confederate Cemetery here in San Antonio several years ago. The Eagle Scout Candidate did the documentation for the cemetery. Turned out very good. 3. Bill: I think you are correct on this. My G-Grandfather's WWI Reg. Card shows he was born in Dove, Tenn. However, we know that they never lived in Dove, but in Martin Springs. It wasn't until later that Martin Springs was their actual post office, but they had used the Dove P.O. for many years. I also have some Doves married into my Harris line -- they all (Harris & Dove) lived in the Gizzard Cove. Just my 2 cents ;-) Donna bill <wmcconne@bellsouth.net> wrote: Jim, I think we had the discussion about his some time ago and I know that some think that Dove is Martin Springs. To get there at Powells Crossroad turn onto East Valley Rd (I think that's the name) going toward Dunlap. Go about 3 3/4 miles and the road is on the right. The last time we were there, there was a single wide trailer sitting there and the graves are a little ways behind the trailer on the right. Any help would be truly appreciated. 1. [TNMARION] She needs information
    2. Linda sent the picture in to us that Iley just put on the web and she also asked the following-- I thought perhaps some of you have had more experience with this than I have and can help her out better. LindaK814@aol.com wrote: My name is Linda (Taylor) Neeley. That picture was taken in 1939, my Dad was three years old,his sister was six and his brother was eight. I've just recently found the graves of my Dad's grandparents and I wondered if you could help me? This grave yard is in very bad shape. We're not sure how many graves are actually there or who owns the land. Is there anyone I can contact to make sure the graves don't disappear altogether? I know for a fact that there are two civil war veterans buried there. I have information showing that the G.A.R. decorated their graves. 3. Dove was just a few miles outside of Jasper going towards Monteagle. I think Dove was later renamed Martin Springs. There is a Dove cemetery listed in the Marion County list under cemeteries. 3. Debbie, I am so glad you finally got the death certificate. It was kind of like pulling teeth. Now we both know that is a lot easier to work through an individual instead of going to the official state offices.
