    1. [TNMARION] limits to mailings--9
    2. tried to send a posting for Tom Johnston 1790+ in various states and counties he or his family has lived in from 1790-1886. I sent to 30 counties and all but 9 were rejected. When I called my carrier(AOL) they told me this is a new policy. Aparently this is what they have to do to prevent spammers from being as effective. They checked and verified my account and the past usage,to be sure I had no complaints of spamming. Since I had a clean record they allowed me to modify the amount of mail I send now, however I have to wait 24 hrs before I begin. When I send mail,I or anyone who sends more than 9 emails at once, has to place a disclaimer at the bottom of each. Well I dont know if theres a better way to curtail spammers, but its irritating that it has to restrict me. If there is no better way, then fine, its better than having to put up with spammers. The thing is..dont access sites that spammers hang out. Some areas are obvious, but there may be some that arent. I dont know. Ive never been spammed, except once when I went into a chat room. I never did that again. It was like walking into a bee nest or field of mosquitos.I havent been spammed for 2 years since Ive stayed out of certain sites that raised the liklihood of it. Well I guess I can get used to either disclaiming or just doing 9 at a time. I told them the county sites I write to for genealogy monitor this stuff, but It didnt matter to AOL.

    1. [TNMARION] Nelson funeral home
    2. Laura L.Haslacker
    3. My gggrandmother, Savannah Jolly McClendon, died in 1928. She passed away, and was embalmed in Whitwell Tennessee(Hicks Chapel area). She is buried in Garrison Cemetary, in Rhea County with her husband. I have tried to get a death certificate for her, from Nashville, to Rhea Co., but no one seems to have a copy. Since she died in Marion Co., I assumed they would have sent a copy to Nashville. This is what they have said. Her obituary in the Chattanooga Times, states that arrangements were made by Nelson. I know she was one of the first people in the state to be embalmed, and my Aunt remembers peeking in the windows and watching. I have been unable to trace any of the papers. I know that Nelson Funeral home went out of business, and I visited the funeral homes last year from Whitwell to Dayton, and no one had heard of this particular funeral home. Does anyone have any ideas? I really need the info on her death certificate. Laura Lynn dixiegirl@mindspring.com

    3. I just spoke with Eva at High Funeral Home. Mr. High has been in business in McMinnville since 1925. Good news for the McMinnville, Warren Co., TN. researchers is that the records are store there in boxes by years and you can "come search". They do not have anyone to do research for them. Charles, do you think you can get TN. Archives to film them so people out of town will be able to search them. High Funeral Home 101 College St. McMinnville, TN. 37110 931-473-2137 Bad news to date for Grundy Co. Mr. High was in business with a partner and sold out. The records remain in Grundy. I have a lead and will let everyone know when I come up with more for the Grundy Co. area. To add to our research we also need to find the records of E.J. Cunningham who own the funeral home in Tracy City before Mr High. Lawrence Meeks is said to have run it for Mr. Cunningham. If anyone has information on about Cunningham please let me know. And we are still looking for information on Norvell. Thanks and Happy Hunting, Gwen Researching G.R.A.H.A.M/N.U.N.N.L.E.Y/B.O.S.T/ M.Y.E.R.S./H.A.N.S.F.O.R.D. /S.T.A.N.B.A.C.K/S.T.R.E.E.T/
