    1. [TNMARION] Great Civil War source
    2. Noel C. Matthews
    3. Here is a neat site where you can put in the name of someone who served in the Civil War (either side) and get information. The site is handled by the National Park Service and is called the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System. Also gives a short history of the unit that the individual served in. Check it out here: http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/ Cheers, Noel

    3. I recieved this from another list and thought it was pretty neat ,so I am sharing with you . Searching the data base on the sight produced lots of surnames for me-----Betty To everyone--go into the OBITUARY DAILY TIMES site <http://www.rootsweb.com/~obituary> and you can find out who the moderators are for the various states and countries as well as find a list of all the newspapers which have persons who index their obits to the Daily Times. If no one is indexing for your particular city, then you will have to write directly to the newspaper. This is a fascinating site.

    2. Macbetty
    3. I recieved this from Bonnie Hill off anther list, and thought I would share it with all of you . ---Betty For you and for anyone else interested in the Dawes Rolls, go to the internet and type in www.google.com. (this is a really good search engine and VERY fast) When Google comes up type in "guion+miller" in just that way and the first page will be the Dawes and Guion (pronounced Gee-on) Miller rolls. (the final ones). HOWEVER there are more Indian rolls than there are Federal Censuses so if you don't find them there, check the rest of them. Everytime the government turned around, they made a roll of them.

    3. Could anyone tell me if there was a Reverend John Brooks in the county in 1870? I just received a copy from a Bible page, stating that my gr-gr-grandparents, Elizabeth Mould and George Gillingham were married in Etna, Marion Co. by him on March 17, 1870. I'd like to confirm their location as I had previously believed they only lived in Tioga and Clearfield Counties in Penna. Thanks for any assistance! Dorothy Houston, TX
