Betty: You are doing many people ( I just nicknamed them MARIONITES) but last night I was overwhelmed with answers to e mails that I had no interest in. I am sure you can correct that. Please do. John.
Don't want to burst your bubble, but Goodspeed did not travel all over the U.S. In West Virginia and Ohio it was H.H. Hardesty and Co. There were many different firms in Pennsylvania and Indiana and other parts of the midwest. Same idea though. Pay a substantial amount of money and receive a write-up and a book. Extra $ if you wanted a photo/drawing. The nation's centennial was the impetus for this movement. As many of you know, it was the bicentennial which launched hundreds (literally) of County History/Heritage books. These projects continue to this very day. We anticipate it will take at least 20 years to complete the process. Happy hunting! thank you very much . Would every one like to do a roll call? It has been quite awhile since we have done one. For the new comers to the list, all you have to do is list the names you are researching . Perhaps some one will have a key to your brick wall. I would like to start this off by saying THANK YOU NOEL!! Noel has turned over the keeper of the list job to me, as of this morning. Noel is the one that started this list for us several years ago, after I pleaded , begged and cried , really hard LOL. He has done a wonderful job and believe me if I can do half the job he has done , I will be a happy camper , as those are pretty big shoes to fill and follow after. However his teaching career has taken a big turn in the road for him , so to take some of the pressure off him, I told him I would take the list over for him, for now. He is NOT leaving us by any means as he will still be with us and advisor to me. We are still working on getting the web site transferred over, so again I can take some of the pressure off him by being able to upload the information to the site as well. We will try to keep you updated on this too. I would like to say, that this list actually belongs to all of us and it is only as informative and helpful as ALL of make it. So please fell free to post to it, any genealogy information or questions for Marion County ,Tn. thank you Betty McBee macbetty@bigskytel.com
Nonie Webb has a book on the Hales Bar Dam, your info might be in it. or in My Murder, Mayhem & More book that tells of unusual happenings in Marion Co Euline

Erma Kelly, now deceased wrote a book on the Kelly family. There is a copy at our Whitwell library. I believe the Kelly reunion is the 4th Sunday in June.
