I will check our Nichols family file today as we have a genealogy meeting at our library. Euline in Tennessee
Hello! Researching the family and descendants of Richard Shelton and Temperance Street Shelton. HOWEVER - I am interested in all of the early pioneer families of Marion County and Tennessee. Richard Shelton and his wife Temperance moved to Marion County in 1819 or 1820 from Grainger County Tennessee, where they were married in June of 1797. The Y-Chromosome DNA test results of my Shelton Uncle, indicate that Richard Shelton descends from the family of Ralph Shelton who was imported to the colony of Virginia by the year 1703. It had long been held that the Marion County Sheltons descended from The Shelton Family of Rural Plains, VA. Not so! Special Thanks to Euline Harris for all of her shared research. Also to Nonie Webb. I purchased her two books, "Marion County Keepsake Memories" - they are a wonderful source of Marion County History. I hope to visit Whitwell sometime this year. I noticed that you changed the bottom of the mailing notes to indicate you. Good going. Forgot about that. Feel free to change the statement in anyway you want too. I think that there are 10 different taglines that you can have. They rotate from one to another I think. If you have them all the same then the same thing will appear at the bottom of each message. If you make them different then a different one will appear for each message that is posted. Guess you could use them for any type of notices that you want to such as reunions etc. > > ==== TNMARION Mailing List ==== > *********************************************************************** > PLEASE NOTE: This list is for queries and replies, comments, > requests for help, and other genealogical related information > that is of interest to researchers having a connection or a > possible connection to Marion County, Tennessee. > Betty McBee--macbetty@bigskytel.com--keeper of the list. > Marion County Web Site: http://www.noelm.com/marion/home.html > ***********************************************************************
