I would like to let every one know that one of the carriers is rejecting rootsweb mail--- does not seem to be the same one every time, but does seem to be the same carrier-- If you use intellex.com, please ask them to put your rootsweb subscriptions on the accept list. Otherwise it will bounce off the list. I do have ours set fairly high but I know other lists are not as tolerant of bounces. Also want to remind you , if you are going to be gone please unsubscribe and then resubscribe upon your return. As we have quite a few from Bell South right now that are sitting with full mailboxes. Does any one know for sure if these subscribers could be in the hurricane region? If you do know of any one in the hurricanes area .please let me know off the list and I will make sure they do not bounce off the list. thank you Betty McBee
I'm passing this on to the Marion List because I know many of you (like me) have connections back to Grundy and other counties. Karen that is a great place to look for information -- Usually they had to have a draft card even if they weren't drafted or enlisted. Also another site I recently found is http://www.genealogysearch.org/ I dug deeper on that site and found the passenger list for a ship my Great Great Grandfather was on--- had always heard the stories of how he arrived here but did not know for sure -- I definitely need to do further research on this though . Hello, While in Tennesee in the 1980's I met a Nonie Webb who was helping me with some Wiley Webb info. Does anyone on this board know her or how I can contact her again? I also met a Charles Cagle who was a florist descended from Wiley and his first wife Patsy .Is he still alive? Thanks, Renee
Hello All- (WEBB) While looking thru my husband's old records,I came upon a typewritten sheet that was the transcription from Family Bible Records from Mrs. A. J. Proctor, 1952. In these papers it said that Wiley Webb was the father of Orrah Webb and he entered (homesteaded) the land where Nick o Jack Cave now stands. He built the first house on this land. His first wife was Patsy and his second wife was Mary Pyburn. There was also an added incsription that says Wiley is buried at Stateline cemetery by the Macedonia Church. On another paper, it said that Mary Pyburn had been married to a Henderson before she married Wiley and had some children. On the 1880 censu, it lista a James and John Henderson living with the Webbs. There was another note added that the Webbs came thru Beaucomb(or Buncombe) County, N. Carolina to Tenn, but were originally from Muenster, Ireland. WHERE is MY WEBB lady who was emailing me--please email me back!!!! (Crawford) In a large manilla envelope, I found a copy of the ordination papers for William Levi Crawford. So the census transcription that said the initials were N. M. were wrong. I think they should have been transcribed WM. Another paper also said William's parents were wealthy and his brothers were slavers. ANYONE with any further info on my Rev. Wm. Levi Crawford's family?
