Hi Diane: There were Giddeons that went to South Side, but I don't think we had any by the name Gideon. Could this be one of those surname spelling nightmares? I will look through all the school annuals I have and get back with you. By the way, I went to the new Memphis Library today and I couldn't believe it. It is magnificent.
