GILES family in the mid-1700's from Mecklenburg, VA. That is as far as any of the family researchers have been able to go so far. My husband's g-grandfather was Claiborne Young GILES originally from Franklin area, Williamson Co., TN. Claiborne (or C.Y.) GILES b. 12 Feb 1840 in Williamson Co. d. 1910 in Madison Co. served in the 20th Inf. Co. H Confed. out of Williamson Co. from 1861 -1865. He outlived two wives, Sarah A. "Sallie" HODGE from Williamson Co. (07 Nov 1845- 02 Aug 1887) 8 children, Sarah Margaret MAGUFFIN (1845- Mar 1895) 3 children. My husband's KING line is the one that connects with the HARDIN(G) line . David A. KING (out of Henderson Co. was married to a Mary Jane HARDIN(G) b. 02 Feb 1847- 02 Nov 1893. Do you have someone of that name in your line? The only thing I know about her is that she is buried at Jacks Creek Cemetery in Chester Co. Nan Gaither, San Diego, CA
