    3. Hi Hellen, Thanks for your mention of Unpuzzling Your Past as it relates to Croom research. Emily Ann Croom is my cousin. She also uses her Croom research as an aid in her book The Sleuth Book For Genealogists. In her 1970 book A Chronicle of Tennessee Crooms she devotes several pages to the parents of Pitser Croom and his maternal grandfather Pitser Blalock in the Boliver, Tn area. Unfortunately, the text does not deal with the Pitser given name. It may have come from the Blaylock family or from the maternal grandmother, Mary Catherine Coleman Blaylock or just picked at random. I do not know of any other Croom having this first name. Thanks again.
