    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Wilde Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JgB.2ACE/1086 Message Board Post: Searching for add'l. information on brothers of my g-grandmother (Ulricka Fredricka Charlotta Wilde-Hayes). One was Charles Fredrich Wilde who emigrated to U.S. in 1854 with Ulricka, to avoid having to go in the Kaiser's army. He was in Madison County, TN by early 1860s probably--his wife, Mary--who was from Saxony, Germany was born in 1843. August Wilde, Ulricka's & Charles' younger brother, born in 1851, also came to Madison County, TN when he came to U.S. Both August & Charles F. Wilde were engineers for the big railroad there in Jackson, TN. August passed away in 1901, Charles passed away in 1872. Both August & Charles served in Confederacy. The Wildes were from "Coplin by Giltso, Prussia" near Stettin. Their parents owned a dairy farm up near the Baltic Sea, and the Oder River. Charles F. & Mary Walsh left a no. of children: Lessa Dale Wilde, Hattie Manley Wilde, Lena Wilde, Charles F. Wilde--who passed away in 1923. Lizzie O. Jennings who passed away in 1937! , Albert A. Wilde who passed away in 1945, Jesse Huber, DOD 1891 (The latter may have been a relative--a few of the above may have been in-laws.) August was a Mason and Charles F. Wilde, Jr. was a Mason as I recall. William J. Wilde DOD 1938, was a descendant, as were Charles T. Wilde, DOD 1982; Mary W. Todd-DOD 1996 and Elizah B. Wilde-DOD 1959. One direct descendant in Madison Co. became an attorney. Would like to get in touch with direct descendants of my g-grandmother's brother. Any clues appreciated. Thanks. P.S. Tried to find e-mail address and phone no. for Madison Co. Historical Society with no luck.
