    1. [TNMADISO] SCOTT, HALTOM, DEBERRY, LOVELACE, HUDSON
    2. I have reached a brick wall in trying to identify the father of my greatgreatgrandfather George R. SCOTT (1817-1887). I know from the 1880 census that his father was born in Virginia. I am hoping that I can find descendants of John T. SCOTT (1847-1918), son of George R. SCOTT and Hester Ann HALTOM as well as descendants of Alfred Edgar SCOTT (b. abt. 1867) son of George R. SCOTT and Eugenia J. HUDSON, nee LOVELACE, who was widow of Frank Emory HUDSON. (I have researched other descendants to no avail. My cousin, Joanne Rooks Black and I who are both greatgreatgrandaughters of George R. Scott and Hester Ann Haltom have been collaborating on this genealogy . We are both descended from their son Calvin Batson Scott.) John T. SCOTT, as well as his father and step-mother ( George R. and Eugenia), is buried in Ebenezer cemetery in Malesus. George R. Scott was a farmer in Malesus and I am told that his house is still standing. I have information regarding grantor deeds and grantee deeds of George R. Scott, as well as the record of a land dispute settlement which was signed in 1895 by his heirs (including John T. Scott). Also marriage records of George R. Scott. All of these are Madison Co. records. George R. Scott's first wife, Mary Ann HALTOM was the daughter of Thomas HALTOM and Mary Ann DEBERRY. His second wife, Eugenia J. Lovelace Hudson was the daughter of James Lovelace and Martha Browder. John T. Scott (1847-1918) married Nannie K. (1867-1924) in 1891. They had a son named Floyd b. 1893. I have included all this information in the hope that someone can help me (a) regarding the identity of the father of George R. SCOTT or (b) regarding the descendants of his son, John T. SCOTT. I will be grateful for any information. Genevieve Scott Bell
