Wilde & Leslie D. Jennings-Wilde. He earned his law degree at Cumberland Univ. & immediately admitted to the bar in TN and practised in Jackson, Madison Co. seat. He married, in 1930, Kate L. Bobbitt of Tennessee. (Note: I posted a query on this site June 25, approx., 2004 under the name of "Wilde", listing ancestors of Judge August. These were Charles F. Wilde, his grandfather, whose wife was Mary Krause (I had the wrong last name), born in 1843 in Saxony, Germany. Both Charles & his brother August who came to Jackson, TN by at least 1871 because Charles passed away in 1872; August raised Charles' children: charles F. Wilde, Jr., William J. Wilde, and Albert August Wilde. August W. Wilde, Charles F. Sr.'s grandson, became a Madison County, TN judge in 1934. There is an oustanding bio of Judge Wilde in "TENNESSEE, A HISTORY", VOL. IIII, (1673-1932) published by the American Historical Soceity, N.Y. in ! 1833. Other descendants of the Wildes, who were from far northeastern Prussia in Europe, were a J. R. Thompson III, a Hicks and John R. and Mary W. Todd--alot of the above are buried in historic Riverside Cemetery. Thank you for any information on descendants and historical facts. CB P.S.
