http://www.tngenweb.org/madison/blackcem/04-marsh.htm I have updated Marshall Cemetery near Medon. This is the 47th active black cemetery I have updated since August 2003. I still need to do a few more small black cemeteries which may be active. Between now and the end of April I will update the white section of the antebellum Providence Cemetery (a 10-year update) and Liberty Grove Cemetery ( a 15-year update). I am willing to update one or two other cemeteries from the north or south cemetery books and will take consider recommendations. Speaking of Liberty Grove, are the white Liberty Grove Cemetery and the black Old Liberty Grove Cemetery related in any way? At one time I had thought of recording the markers at Ridgecrest Cemetery. However, it would be about 450 hours of work and I just do not want to do it by myself, particularly as there would be over two hours of driving every day I was in the cemetery. (Note that more time is spent at the computer typing that in the cemetery itself.) If anyone really wants this cemetery online and could get a few volunteers to work in late March and April, I will work too. David
> David,You said you were going to update the Providence Cemetery. Is that the one in the Providence Community? There would be a Met.Church close to it.If so there is a lady by the name of Elizabeth Shellabrager that used to oversee the graves and sites tehre,I do not know if she is still doing it as she is on up in age but she will be able to tell you who is over it if she is not. Also if this is the one I am thinking of my family is buried there.Father was James Swindle died in 1991,Grandparents Lacy and Lela Swindle also buried there. The only one I am missing is my Greatmother Lula Belle Dulin Swindle. She died in 1957.If you run across this infor please let me know .I would like to get her a headstone for her grave. We do not kow where she is buried at there or the funeral home that handled her burial.Thank You,Ann Swindle Pate http://www.tngenweb.org/madison/blackcem/04-marsh.htm > I have updated Marshall Cemetery near Medon.
