He was born in 1828 in NC. He married 1849 in MADISON COUNTY, TN Amanda Henderson. Dempsey was listed in the 1850 Madison County, TN Census, and Amanda was listed in the 1860 White County, Ark as a widow. So that means Dempsey died a young man. Does any one know what he died of? Where? Someone told me that the Cader Sowell listed in Madison County, TN is a cousin, but I have found no proof. Karen Spencer
