    1. [TNMADISO] Samuel and Mary D. Smith
    2. Can anyone give me any suggestions about how to proceed. Samuel died in Mar. 1862, and had a will naming Mary and "the children", mentioning one child, Nancy as crippled. Before any guardianship court documents were filed the Civil War came to town. I've found them in 1860 census and part of them in 1870 - which only identified the children by one initial. The unnamed infant son in 1860 was married in 1878, and was killed in an accident in 1882. He's in the 1880 census with his wife and twin babies. I've tracked the family through the city directory, but I need to prove Joseph, the last son indeed belonged to this family. Can anyone give me a hint about what else I might investigate. Thanks, Karen I've found the family in a cemetery in Westover, but only a few of the children were buried there.
