    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: SULLIVAN, O'CONNOR, CARTMELL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JgB.2ACE/1048.1 Message Board Post: There is an M. O'Connor living with an E. Sullivan in the 15th District (Jackson), Madison County, Tenn in 1870. The 1870 census records do not state the relationships of individuals in households. However, what can be found out from the census is that M. O' Connor was 19 when the census was taken. Her birth place was Ireland and both of her parents were "foreign born." She was unable to read or write. No occupation was listed. Other individuals living in the same household were E. Sullivan, 30, also from Ireland, head of household. He was a gardner. H. Sullivan, 30, female, born in Ireland E. Sulilvan, 2, male, born in Tenn. L. Cartmell, 33, black female, servant R. Cartmell, 14 A. Cartmell, 12 J. Cartmell, 10 (could be a 16) all three were black males. All Carmells were born in Tenn. No one in this household could read or write. I hope this helps.
