Hello: I looked up your Caleb Harris on Ancestry.com's Federal Census for 1840 and found the following: Database: 1840 United States Federal Census Name:   Harris, Caleb T. Data imaged from National Archives and Records Administration. 1840 Federal Population Census. M704, 580 rolls. Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration. A search of the same database for the 1850 Census for madison Co TN showed no CALEB HARRIS in Madison Co., but there was one in McNairy TN. see below: Name:   Caleb Harris Age:   44 Estimated Birth Year:1805 Birth Place: North Carolina Gender:  Male Home in 1850 (City,County,State)District 9, McNairy, Tennessee Page:   137 Roll:   M432_888 This is the only Caleb Harris that turned up on Ancestry.com's 1850 census for TN. and he was in McNairy Co. He was a blacksmith,and there were the following members of his household and their ages: Harriet age 33 b. NC William age 21 Blacksmith b. NC John age 19 Farmer b. NC Frances age 13 b. TN James age 10 b. TN David age 8 b TN Sinai F. age 6. b. TN Martha age 4 b TN Franklin age 2 b. TN George age 10 mos b. TN James T. Bill ( or Bell) age 24 grocer b.
