Diane, I know that you can go to the TN Office of Vital Records in Nashville and they can pull records while you wait. These are more recent records and there is a charge for the copies, but it's better than waiting 6 weeks or more by mail if you need documentation from the last century. Here's their site: http://www.state.tn.us/health/vr/ There are probably more records for Middle TN in the Nashville library, where JMCL is concentrated more on West TN, although JMCL has been ENORMOUSLY helpful in my research. I know my local library in Columbus OH has been VERY helpful for statewide research of OH because it is the capital. I have had difficulty in reading some census images on Ancestry.com too. Their indexing of these images leaves something to be desired (it is a very difficult job, but sometimes the inaccuracy of simple page numbering makes me want to scream). Heritage I've not used much, but I can highly recommend the 1900 census images at Genealogy.com. Very very clear, large images and well indexed for everyone I've looked up. The only complaint I have is that I haven't figured out how to narrow the search by county. Lisa __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
