I live nearby (in Belton, Texas). My ggrandfather was William Hume Reid from Madison County who about the same age as Alexander. I am trying to connect my William with other Reids in our area. There was a prominent Reid family that is not connected to mine who lived in the east part of the county. We live in the west part. Most of them spelled their name "Reed". Any info would be most welcome and I will gladly share what I have on my Reid family.
