    3. Thanks so much for the Boon information! The Billy Boon referred to in the letter is most likely William Boon, b 1845, d 1890, son of Calvin J Boon. William was my GGGrandfather. His niece Virginia married Harvey Hart. The Matthias Boon information fills in a hole for me. I have found information on this man but haven't found an exact relationship yet. My Boon line descends from the same NC-VA line, but we're not sure just how. However, I have copies of documents concerning Matthias' children. In one Enoch is referred to as Enoch Bryan, in the other as Enoch Bryant. Now I know how this man fits in with the Boons. The documents deal with his guardianship of Matthias' two sons. If you'd like a transcript, I'd be glad to send one to you. Thanks again to both of you for the information. 2. Thomas HARDING, born circa 1688, died between 1729 - 1731 in Henrico Co., VA, married about 1719 to Mary GILES, daughter of William GILES and Bethania Knowleton (Knowles). William and Sarah LaFORCE HARDING's son, Thomas HARDING, married Jane FARRAR - their son, George HARDING married Eliza STEWART/STUART (born circa 1806 in PA according to census records) 22 April 1844 in Williamson County, Tennessee. George HARDING was my husband's great, great, great grandfather. 1. Re: [TNMADISO] MULLINS
    2. I have in my ole' Hart documents and record keeping the Mullins name. It says on two seperate pieces of paper from a leather bound small notebook, the pages are facing one another. On the left side of the book 1869 Robert Mullins to one oxen $22.00 to 3 yd goods for pantes $1.00 to six yards of shirtses $1.81 to one par shouse $2.25 March the 20th 2 months 14 days **** (can't read) the 23 to 41 pounds of bacon $8.60 to bill of goods May the 24 $4.35 (then at the bottom is some adding and math calculating) On the opposing side Albert Mullins line commenced January the 4 1869 lost days IIIIIII 4055 (I have know idea what that all means???) note........... they had oxen back then in those days in Madison County!!!!!!!!!!........ news to me but I can scan and send to any one that wants to see...........it LOOKS like it says oxen!!!!!! note my ancestor must have sold LOTS of bacon next page says John S. York to 32 pounds of bacon 7.00 If I buy bacon in a three lb package it goes bad before we can eat it all!!!!!! Anyway, perhaps this can help to place a Mullins someone is looking for in the time frame of 1869. Diane

    1. [TNMADISO] Boon / Boone
    2. Lisa, It is not much but in one of my Hart family Civil War letters reference is made to Billy Boon. Let me tell you what I know: ~The letter is undated. The best guess I have been able to come up with according to information contained in the letter is April - August of 1863. ~The letter is wrtten by James Peasant Hart from Shelbyville, Bedford Co, TN to his wife Mary. They lived in the area of Perry Switch Road and Harts Bridge Road. They attended Liberty Grove Baptist Church. The letter says "Billy Boon arrived here the 27 of March and informed me you all was well." I know it is not much but just wanted to let you know. Diane

    2. Yes! I too have received at least 5 error messages all connected to this list. They all refer to mail I sent back in Dec. but have a send date of Jan 4 or Jan 5. The message I receive is the same and the name of the person to whom I 'm sending it is the same as Sandra: i.e., "[email protected]" If anyone knows what this is about, I'm sure we'd all be glad to know. Thanks Nancy Noel <<Can someone tell me why I received about 5 of these messages today? Did anyone else on the list receive them? Somehow they are connected to this list.>>

    3. Hi Gayle, I am researching my Davis line who migrated from Virginia to Madison County, Tn in 1837. In the process I have done some saturation work in several Davis lines in the county. I would be glad to run any names you have versus my data. 2. I remember Moon Mullins. At the time I was working for Motor Parts and Bearing Co. delivering parts. This had to be around 1962-1963. I remember him as a pretty good mechanic and well respected in the community. I left Jackson in 1965 and moved to Memphis to seek my fame and fortune. Ha Ha. I have been searching my family history also. If you or anyone has any info on the Pickens family please contact me. Thanks and best of luck, Jim Pickens

    3. Hi Hellen, Thanks for your mention of Unpuzzling Your Past as it relates to Croom research. Emily Ann Croom is my cousin. She also uses her Croom research as an aid in her book The Sleuth Book For Genealogists. In her 1970 book A Chronicle of Tennessee Crooms she devotes several pages to the parents of Pitser Croom and his maternal grandfather Pitser Blalock in the Boliver, Tn area. Unfortunately, the text does not deal with the Pitser given name. It may have come from the Blaylock family or from the maternal grandmother, Mary Catherine Coleman Blaylock or just picked at random. I do not know of any other Croom having this first name. Thanks again. 3. Bobby, I remember Moon Mullins' garage, but do not know his given name. You could possible get it by contacting the library, Jackson Sun, or telephone directory of that time. I have a MULLINS line out of Lincoln Co. TN. and wonder if there is a connection. Martha Jane MULLINS married Thomas William GURLEY and they settled in Henderson Co. Following the CW they are found in Madison Co. along with the families of two of their sons, Thomas Wesley, Sr. and James Preston who was a minister at Liberty Meth. Church where he and Thomas Wesley, Sr. are buried. Thomas Wesley GURLEY Sr. first married Christiana SMITH and secondly to Chrissie Ann TUBBS. These families lived very near the Henderson Co. line. She was widowed prior to 1846 in Madison County, (district 10) as she married for the second time to my gg grandfather, Benjamin Hayley on Nov. 25, 1846. She had three children by her first husband ________ Flemming and their names were Robert Flemming, Chloe Flemming, and Fanny Flemming. Fanny was the youngest and born in 1842. She was raised and sent to school with the Hayley children of Benjamins first marriage.
